German broadcaster Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland is rebranding its TV channel RTLplus to RTLup.
The reason: RTL’s streaming service TVNow will be renamed RTL+ on November 3, 2021, thus a new name was needed. The brand of VOX sister channel VOXup served as a model.
The name changes are part of a general new brand design that focuses on ‘RTL’. Parent company now just calls itself RTL Deutschland, and on the web www.rtl.com will become the central media hub.
At the same time, the TV channels are getting a new, uniform look. In the next step, the RTL radio stations will also receive a new brand identity.
