Telekom Srbija has entered into an agreement with Post Srbija to buy the latter’s cable operator Posta net.
In a statement, Poste Srbije says that “in accordance with plans for improving the quality of its core business, Poste Srbije has made a decision to cease operations in the field of cable telecommunications”.
As a result, it has signed a contract transferring the ownership of Posta net to Telekom Srbija.
Broadband TV News notes that the possibility of transaction was first reported in July this year.
Although Post net has a small subscriber base, its acquisition by Telekom Srbija would see the latter’s share of the cable market increase to 54.6%, exceeding that of its closest rival SBB’s 46.7%.
No financial details of the Posta net sale have been disclosed.
