Tinatin Kandelaki has been appointed deputy general director of Russia’s Gazprom-Media holding.
In her new position, she will continue to be responsible for the development of the GPM Match sub-holding and also oversee the activities of entertainment TV channels (TNT, TV-3, Friday! etc). In addition, her area of responsibility will host the launch and development of the Match news agency, which the holding announced earlier.
Commenting on the appointment, Alexander Zharov, general director of Gazprom-Media holding, said: “Tinatin Kandelaki is a successful media manager with broad expertise, the necessary skills and competencies to implement new ambitious goals in the position of deputy general director of Gazprom-Media. I am sure that by joint efforts we will achieve the tasks that the shareholders and time set for us”.
Kandelaki added: “This appointment is definitely a big responsibility. Our holding company, operating in a highly competitive environment, faces very ambitious tasks. Aleksandr Aleksandrovich’s proposal is no less a challenge than the launch of the Match TV channel six years ago, and I intend to make every effort to ensure that these tasks are successfully solved”.
Kandelaki has been the general producer of Match TV since its launch in 2015. The position will now be taken by Alexander Tashchin, who currently works as the chief editor of the TV channel.
Tashchin came to the management of the channel in July 2020.
