Deutsche Telekom adds Sky Ticket to MagentaTV

September 7, 2021 10.58 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

German telco Deutsche Telekom will offer streaming service Sky Ticket as an app on its TV platform MagentaTV.

In return, pay-TV operator Sky Deutschland will add Telekom’s MagentaSport app to Sky Q. Deutsche Telekom and Sky expanded their partnership for this purpose.

In the first step, the Sky Ticket app will become available on the MagentaTV stick this year; Sky Ticket for media receivers and TV boxes will follow at a later date. MagentaTV customers will be able to book Sky’s streaming service directly via MagentaTV – on a single bill.

It is not yet clear yet when the MagentaSport app will launch on Sky Q and whether Sky customers will be able to book Telekom’s sports streaming service directly via Sky, as a Sky Deutschland spokesperson told Broadband TV News. “We will provide further details at a later stage.”

[UPDATE October 6, 2021] The Sky Ticket app will become available on the MagentaTV stick on October 7, 2021. The integration on the Telekom media receiver and the MagentaTV box will follow at a later stage.
