WDR selects SmartPages from TeraVolt for HbbTV app

September 2, 2021 09.15 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

German public broadcaster WDR has opted for the operating system from Hamburg-based digital TV agency TeraVolt for the HbbTV application of children’s series Sendung mit der Maus.

Via the Maus app, viewers can access video and audio content from children’s characters mouse and elephant on smart TV sets.

WDR launched the app in April 2020 and now made a system change to SmartPages, an all-in-one solution for the creation, production and playout of interactive add-on formats to TV programmes. Some of TeraVolt’s customers also use the product for corresponding advertising campaigns.

“We are very pleased to support the Maus, an institution on German television, in the area of HbbTV. This is a real milestone for our SmartPages product and a prestigious stage on which we can show how powerful the system is,” said Oliver Koch, managing partner and co-founder of TeraVolt.
