The Greek telco Wind Hellas has reported strong results ahead of its take-over by United Group.
Commenting on the transaction, which was announced on August 16, Wind Hellas’s president and CEO Narsos Zarkalis said: “our membership of an international telecommunications and information leader such as UG is an exciting milestone for us and will further enhance our capabilities and benefits for our customers”.
Wind Hellas’s revenues in Q2 amounted to €130.3 million, or 5.3% more than a year earlier. EBITDa was €28.5 million, up €2.4 million on Q2 2020, with a profit margin of 21.9%. Its mobile and fixed contracted customer total increased by 5.2% and 1.9% respectively, while fibre-optic (NGA) customers increased by 42.7%. The total NGA line total stood at 421,000 as of June 30, and total investment in the year to June 30 was €94.5 million.
Zarkalis confirmed that the sale to United Group, for an undisclosed fee, should be completed sometime in 2022.
