Canal+ is launching two new channels based around two genres that the Paris-based channel says are particularly popular with viewers.
Canal+ Docs is designed as a contemporary channel presented by some of the great names in documentary film. Canal+ Kids has been specifically designed for 4-12 year olds reflected in the best in animation and fiction, as well as original programmes and original documentaries.
It comes as Canal launches a new offer that is designed to make it easier for subscribers to choose from three comprehensive packages.
There’s an enhanced offer for Canal+ itself and two themed offers for fans of film and series, and sport.
Since its early days as a single premium channel, Canal+ has sought to deliver a distinctive offer, arguably little has changed with the latest cinema releases, Ligue 1, Premier League, Top 14 rugby, Formula 1 and MotoGP.
There are now 5 premium channels in the offer, Canal+, Canal+Series, Canal+Docs, Canal+Kids and Canal+Sport Week-End (the former Canal+ Decale).
Canal+ costs €20.99 a month for the first 12 months and €24.99 after that.
Canal+ Cine Series combines Canal+Cinema, Cine+, Disney+, Netflix, OCS and Starzplay at €34.99 for 12 months, then €40.99 for the next 24 months.
Canal+ Sport, encompassing Canal+Sport, Foot+, Rugby+ and Golf+, and those of our partners Bein Sports and Eurosport. Canal+Sport is €34.99 for 12 months then €45.99 a month for 24 months.
Although Canal+ describes the offer as ‘simplified’ there is an intriguing 50% discount for those under the age of 26 and the Friends & Family package that combines Canal+, Cine Series and Sport for €64.99 with 4 simultaneous users, rather than the usual 2.
