Tele2 has appointed Torkel Sigurd its new executive VP corporate affairs and member of its group leadership team.
Sigurd has 20 years of experience within telecom and has been with Tele2 for 14 years. Most notably, he led Tele2’s M&A unit during the company’s international consolidation the last few years. He also has experience from leading a number of commercial and product related functions.
Sigurd will assume his new role on September 1 and will report to Kjell Johnsen, Tele2’s president and CEO. Tele2’s corporate affairs unit encompasses several functions, including the legal, M&A and strategy divisions.
Commenting on the appointment, Johnsen said: “l am very glad to welcome Torkel to our group leadership team. His experience from operational and strategic projects as well as different market conditions will be valuable as we continue to evolve Tele2. It also makes me proud that we can fill such a crucial role internally, which shows the strength of the Tele2 organisation”.
To further increase Tele2’s focus on culture, the Tele2 Way, and the way of work going forward, Nathalie Dahmm, head of culture and HR business advisory, will assume an adjunct role in Tele2’s group leadership team.
Johnsen added: “At Tele2 we are committed to learn from the pandemic in order to continue to evolve the way we collaborate and organize ourselves. With her unique history from within Tele2 as foundation, Nathalie will have a dedicated responsibility for these efforts”.
