Media Group Ukraine (MGU) has signed an agreement with the Canadian streaming TV and VOD service RiverTV.
Under it, RiverTV subscribers will be able to purchase a subscription to Ukrainian channels, which includes the MGU services Ukraine 24, Ukraine, Ukraine 2, NLO TV 2, as well as partner channels Star Cinema, Star Family, X-Sport, Rybolovlya TV. Ukraine 24 will be made available free of charge to for the entire RiverTV user base.
Commenting on the developmemt, Oleksandr Remezovsky, MGU’s channel distribution director, said: “The Ukrainian diaspora in Canada is the largest in the world. It is extremely important for us that people directly consume informational and entertaining content produced in Ukraine. We are pleased with the partnership, as the launch of the Ukrainian channel package, one of the first international offers of the service, means that Ukrainian content is relevant and Ukrainian subscribers are valued by Canadian providers”.
Oleksiy Chornobryvets, CEO of VMedia Inc., the parent company of RiverTV, added: “RiverTV is happy to add MGU channels to its lineup. The Ukrainian diaspora is definitely one of the largest in Canada, and we are pleased to add MGU channels with their exciting shows, movies and news events to be able to take even better care of our users”.
RiverTV is the first licensed streaming TV provider in Canada to offer its own high-tech solutions, including dynamic ad insertion.
Ukraine 24 is already available to 30 million households in more than 15 countries.
Furthermore, the package of Ukrainian channels is also available in Portugal and will in due course also be offered in several other countries.
