The Polish public broadcaster TVP has signed its first agreements on the basis of must carry must offer on multimedia internet platforms.
As a result, the cable operator Toya and CDA Premium, the operator of the CDA Premium on demand platform, will offer their customers the channels TVP1 HD, TVP2 HD and TVP 3.
The channels will be distributed by a Content Delivery Network (CDN) to ensure the signal quality and safety as well as to respect territorial restrictions and content licensing rights.
Commenting on the development, Marcin Klepacki, director of the distribution department at TVP, said: “TVP’s content distribution is a modern, safe and very efficient technological solution. It is worth noting that during UEFA EURO 2020, during the Poland – Sweden match, 910,000 unique users generated traffic at the level of 1.9 Tbps. Thus, TVP set another broadcast record during one event on the Polish internet. The CDN worked flawlessly, and we have not yet achieved its maximum efficiency”.
