Channel 4 has named Grace Boswood has been appointed as its new technology director.
Boswood joins from the BBC, where she has been chief operating officer of its design and engineering department for the past five years. She previously worked in the BBC’s Future Media department and for Human Capital, a media strategy and research consultancy.
At Channel 4, Boswood will play a key roll in the Future4 strategy that is focusing on the move to digital and its commercial exploitation. She’ll report to chief operating officer Jonathan Allan.
“We’re looking forward to Grace joining Channel 4 in this pivotal role as we continue the digital transformation of our business,” said Allan. “She brings a wealth of leadership, strategy and digital experience to our technology division which will be key to ensuring we successfully deliver our ambitious Future4 strategy, focusing on prioritising digital growth, putting viewers at the heart of decision making, diversifying revenue streams and building strategic partnerships.”
Boswood said: “Channel 4 is a brand I have loved since my teenage years, and I believe in the power of technology to be a driving force behind the Future4 strategy. I am thrilled to be joining at this pivotal time for the business and further accelerating its move to digital.”
Boswood will join Channel 4 on 14 September 2021, and Interim Technology Director, David Gibbons, will step down later this autumn.
