Roku says it expects the launch of TCL Roku models in the UK to drive further platform adoption.
The device manufacturer, which is continuing to turn towards content, is continuing to make good progress in its international markets. It plans to launch in Germany, initially with players, later this year.
Roku’s platform monetisation, which the company described as “exceptional”, contributed to an 81% increase in revenue to $645 million. Monetised video ad impressions doubled year-over-year.
Active accounts grew by 1.5 million to end the quarter on 1.5 million. However, Q2 2021 were relatively flat following the demand spike in demand in the second quarter of 2020. Like other manufacturers, Roku has also faced component supply issues.
