Would-be subscribers to HBO Max in the United States can now watch selected episodes of some of the platform’s most popular programming in-app before choosing to sign up.
The WarnerMedia streaming service says it’s an extension of long-standing sampling opportunities that have been available via HBOMax.com. More recently, Snapchatters have been able to watch free episodes of HBO Max programming virtually alongside their friends within the Snapchat app.
The free experience will initially include 13 episodes of HBO and Max Originals, with new titles being rotated in and out of the collection periodically.
Pilot episodes available in the collection at launch include: Batwoman, Game of Thrones, Perry Mason and The Flight Attendant. Users can also browse the HBO catalogue to discover more free and paid for content.
Separately, LG Electronics USA and WarnerMedia announced the HBO Max app is now available on LG Smart TVs in the United States, including its line-up of award-winning LG OLED TVs.
