Vivendi’s Canal+ Group had revenues of €2,782 million in H1, or 4.7% more than in the same period last year.
At the same time, its subscriber total reached 22.1 million, including 8.9 million in mainland France, compared to 20.4 million for the first half of 2020. Meanwhile, revenues from TV operations in mainland France grew by 1.7%, and revenues from international operations increased by 4.4% at constant currency and perimeter, thanks to the significant year-on-year growth in the number of subscribers (+1.4 million).
Studiocanal’s revenues rose sharply by 44.8% (41.2%), driven by very good performances in catalogue and TV series.
Canal+ Group’s profitability improved compared to H1 2020 and EBITA before restructuring was €330 million, compared to €300 million in the same period last year. Broadband TV News notes that the above figures are at constant currency and perimeter.
In its results Vivendi says that its revenues in H1 amounted to €8,221 million, compared to €7,576 million, with the increase being mainly due to the growth of Universal Music Group (UMG), Canal+ Group, Havas Group and Editas.
