The Greek incumbent OTE has agreed to sell its subsidiary Telekom Romania’s sports channels to Orange.
Ziarul Financiar reports that Romania’s National Audiovisual Council (CNA) has been notified of the transaction by two Telekom Romania companies related to Telekom Sport, namely Telekom Romania Communications and NextGen Communications. It adds that no further details are available.
As previously reported by Broadband TV News, last November Greece’s OTE agreed to sell its 54% stake in Telekom Romania’s fixed-lien business TKR to Orange Romania for €268 million.
The deal, which valued 100% of TKR at €497 million has still to be approved by the relevant authorities, with the European Commission expected to make a ruling on July 28.
