Bavarian media authority BLM has approved the user interface (UI) of Vodafone Deutschland’s GigaTV Cable Box 2.
The decision marks the first UI approval under the new federal German media legislation. After the testing procedure of the device was completed, the authorisation was issued in Munich.
According to the new media law, platform providers are obliged to make search and recommendation functions transparent. Also, the TV and radio channels and apps offered through set-top boxes must be listed in a non-discriminatory manner.
