France’s VidéoFutur has launched a new on demand platform named Viva.
According to several reports, it is dedicated to cinema and series and can be received without obligation and subscription.
Its catalogue consists of over 15,000 titles, including 9,000 films, which can be purchased or rented.
This follows agreements with almost all French and US studios. Rental costs for newly released titles on VOD will be around €5, though the price is likely to drop quicky.
Viva will aim to show films a maximum of 3-4 months after their theatrical release.
The service can be received on all computers and iOS and Android smartphones.
