Matthias Hahn, who most recently headed Sky Deutschland’s commercial distribution team as Senior Vice President, will leave the German pay-TV operator at the end of July 2021.
Having worked for Sky for 14 years, Hahn built up the subscription broadcaster’s distribution business under Prof. Wolfram Winter and concluded carriage agreements with all major cable operators and telcos in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as part of the team with Dr Holger Enßlin and Simin Lange.
Hahn studied business administration at the International School of Management in Dortmund and earned his MBA at Bond University in Australia. Before joining Sky, the 44-year-old worked in a medium-sized management consultancy in Bad Homburg.
With Hahn, another long-time employee is leaving Sky Deutschland. Thomas Henkel, who heads the Advertising, Partnerships & Distribution division, is also leaving.
Sky Deutschland has thus parted with its entire senior management in distribution within 15 months. It is expected that the UK-based Sky headquarter will take over distribution management centrally for all Sky markets in Europe, supported by small local teams in the individual countries.
