Alexey Volin has been appointed DG of the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC).
Volin officially assumed the role on June 28 and among his main tasks will be strengthening and modernisation of the existing satellite constellation, maintaining RSCC’s market position in an increasingly competitive environment, providing communication services for remote regions of the Far North, participating in international cooperation and, above all, in the work of the International Organisation for Space Communications (IOSC) Intersputnik.
Volin served most recently as deputy minister of digital development, communications and mass media of the Russian Federation from July 2012 to October 2020. ?? was responsible for the digitalistion of Russian TV and shutdown of analogue broadcasting.
