Amazon Fire TV integrates Zattoo as live TV source

June 21, 2021 11.11 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Streaming service Zattoo can now be used as the live TV source via the Live tab on Amazon Fire TV.

“The user interfaces of streaming boxes and connected TVs are constantly evolving to make classic TV more accessible. In the past, the focus of these interfaces was first on apps, then on video-on-demand content. However, the majority of usage time, including connected TVs, is still spent on classic TV and this is increasingly reflected in the user interfaces,” said Jörg Meyer, Chief Officer Content and Consumer at Zattoo.

“For Zattoo, this trend in general and the integration into the live TV function on Amazon Fire TV in particular offers the opportunity to present itself to streaming-savvy user groups as a real alternative to classic reception methods such as cable and satellite and to make it easier for them to access Zattoo,” added Meyer.

Viewers who who want to use Live TV via Zattoo directly from the main menu on Amazon Fire TV must first download and install the Zattoo app and enter their account data. Afterwards, Zattoo can be selected as the TV source in the “Live TV” section of the Fire TV settings.
