The Czech national commercial broadcaster TV Nova had a difficult yet ultimately successful year in 2020.
Quoting its annual report, published in the Commercial Register, Digizone> reports that it had a profit of CZK865 million (€34 million), up from CZK810 million posted in 2019.
Meanwhile, its total revenues were CZK5.24 billion, compared to CZK5.45 billion.
Although advertising was a key source of income, TV Nova also made revenues from cable and satellite distribution, internet advertising and its on demand service Voyo.
Significantly, the latter’s subscriber total doubled in 2020, and its net revenues amounted to CZK64.1 million.
TV Nova, like other stations in the CME group, changed ownership at the end of last year and is now part of PPF Group.
