The Court of Commerce of Paris has ordered Orange to pay €3.6 million owed to Mediapro for the distribution of the failed Téléfoot channel.
The amount relates to payments made by Orange customers for the Téléfoot channel that had been established by Mediapro as a vehicle for its Ligue 1 and 2 football coverage.
Orange had argued that it had lost €6 million as a result of the early cessation of the contract.
Mediapro and the Professional Football League (LFP) agreed to terminate their contract in December 2020. The Spanish company had missed a payment of €172.3 million euros due in October and another of €152.5 million in December.
The rights were ultimately picked up by Canal+.
