Russia’s leading OTT operator ivi now has the backing of VTB Capital.
Quoting a company disclosure, Telecom Daily reports that it owns an 8.8% stake through Peletno Holdings.
It adds that in late May it became known that a consortium of investors, which included Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF), Roman Abramovich’s Millhouse, Baring Vostok and VTB Capital, had invested a total of $250 million in ivi.
A previous round of investment in the operator, amounting to around $40 million, was carried out in 2019.
Significantly, Kirill Dmitriev, CEO of RDIF, revealed last week that ivi is still planning an IPO.
