MTS and Red Media extend agreement

MTS and Gazprom-Media’s Red Media have announced the extension of an agreement on the distribution of TV channels.

Alongside this they have agreed to distribute the recently launched channel Zvezda Plus on all platforms.

As part of the renewal of the contract with Red Media, MTS cable, satellite TV and IPTV viewers will have access to 29 TV channels in basic subscriptions, including 13 educational and entertainment, 10 film and six sports. Additionally, they can subscribe to the thematic packages Match Premier, Match Football and Set the Cinema. Meanwhile, viewers of the online cinema Kion will have access to 21 TV channels in basic subscriptions, and can also watch an additional package Sports, which provides access to popular Red Media sports channels in online format and the premium packages Match Premier, Match Football and Set the Cinema.

Commenting on the development, Mikhail Goryachev director for development of linear broadcasting and operator projects, MTS Media, said: “MTS is a leader in the Russian pay-TV market. We create for our subscribers a unique offer of a wide range of quality content and convenient services. Thanks to cooperation with Red Media, we are expanding our packages with top-rated sports, film and educational and entertainment TV channels. It is important for us that our partnership allows us to give maximum opportunities and positive emotions to our viewers”.

Anton Konshin, director of development and distribution department, Red Media, added: “I am glad to continue cooperation with the MTS group. We are working to provide subscribers of the company’s TV services with the best sports, film and educational content. We are consistently expanding the library of our TV channels with the most popular programmes and films. We know that MTS subscribers love and enjoy watching our TV channels. And our cooperation with MTS is beneficial to all parties: viewers who receive the best content and a wide range of choices, us, who receive a stable contract with one of the most dynamically developing players in the pay-TV market, and MTS, which can offer its viewers one of the best libraries on the market”.
