NTV has become the first Russian TV channel to use 5G broadcast.
According to its parent company Gazprom-Media, it has opened a studio at the St Petersburg Economic Forum (PMEF-2021), from where, working in partnership with MegaFon, it will broadcast live 5G throughout the country.
It adds that a monitor will be installed in the NTV studio to demonstrate the difference in transmission rates over 4G and 5G. It will be divided into two parts, to which video content will be transmitted via two communication channels.
NTV will also show live broadcasts of 10 channels of the first multiplex in HD, as well as NTV orbits (+2, +4, +7), NTV thematic channels (NTV-Pravo, NTV-Style, NTV-Serial, NTV Hit), the NTV-Mir channel and the video signal from the Insta360 camera on studio devices for displaying content.
