M7 Deutschland adds interactive services to TV packages

June 2, 2021 08.52 Europe/London By Broadband TV News Correspondent

M7 Deutschland is now offering interactive TV services on the channels of its free-TV and pay-TV packages.

The new features are provided first in the BasisHD basic package: with the instant restart function, viewers can reset the currently running TV programme to the beginning and watch it time-shifted. With cloud recording, individual programmes can be recorded, stored in the cloud and watched on a device of choice.

The multiscreen function brings the channels at home in HD quality to smartphones, tablets, PCs, Fire TV sticks and other end devices.

Depending on availability, the ‘advanced’ services are offered on almost all 23 free-TV channels of the BasisHD package, including the channels of Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland and ProSiebenSat.1.

“We are pleased to be able to offer our partners another added value with BasisHD advanced, enabling them to provide customers with contemporary, flexible TV usage via their high-performance networks. The demand for these rights is enormous, as network operators really want to exploit the advantages of an IPTV platform. The new forms of use will very quickly establish themselves as the new standard,” said Marco Hellberg, Managing Director of Eviso Germany, the M7 business partner in Germany. “We will announce the first network operators who have opted for BasisHD advanced shortly.”
