The HbbTV Operator App specification is a tool which enables platform operators to equip compatible smart TV sets with a branded user interface.
The HbbTV OpApp acts like a virtual set-top box inside the smart TV, effectively turning it into an operator device. OpApps are permitted to use additional buttons on the remote control currently not usable by standard smart TV apps, enabling enhanced user navigation.
