Canal+ recruits Beata Ryczkowska

June 1, 2021 11.03 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

Beata Ryczkowska has been appointed director of original productions and co-productions at Canal+ Polska, effective August 1.

In her new role, she will be responsible for the implementation of the programme strategy for original Canal+ Polska productions and the overall supervision of the production process, including negotiating programming contracts and controlling the distribution of proprietary content.

Ryczkowska will also be responsible for the coordination of projects supporting the production of original content under the Canal+ Series LAB programme and the acquisition and development of programme projects in cooperation with the Canal+ Group (Vivendi SE) and M7 (part of the Canal+ Group).

Commenting on the appointment, Malgorzata Seck, VP of programming at Canal+ Polska, said: “Our long-term goal is to build the richest content offer for Canal + viewers and to develop close cooperation with creators, which is why we are looking forward to another such important strengthening in the programming area. The coming months will surely bring a lot of new programming, as we will continue our strategy of investing in the production of our own content and co-productions”.

For the last three years Ryczkowska has been associated with Kino Polska TV, where she first held the position of programming director, and from 2020 that of executive director for programming of Kino Polska TV channels.

In 2015-2018 she was the programme director of the Stopklatka.tv channel. Previously, she was for many years involved in film production, including at Canal+ and Cyfra+, where in the years 1996 – 2012, as programme director, she was responsible for the implementation of programme strategy as well as film and series production.
