Struum, the US streaming service developed by former Disney and Discovery executives has launched its first preview.
The Michael Eisner-backed operation wants to provide viewers a single destination for a single monthly fee that will then give access to programming from across the globe.
The platform says its first-of-its-kind credit-based subscription model offers the most cost-effective and efficient way for people to sample and discover programming as they spend their monthly credits to unlock only the films and TV episodes they want to watch from its content partners.
As viewers continue to use the platform, they’re suggested new content based on their viewing habits.
Lauren DeVillier, CEO of Struum, said, “Struum is designed to create the easiest way to find more of the content you love through one single monthly subscription. We view ourselves as the ultimate complementary service and a perfect fit for TV and film lovers who are increasingly frustrated by the costs, complexity and effort required to discover and watch what they want.”
Struum has struck deals with more than 50 premium services with over 25 available during the early preview period. They include Tastemade, Tribeca, Cheddar News, Kocowa, Dekkoo, Magellan TV, History Hit, Gusto, Young Hollywood, Indieflix, Filmbox, Echoboom Sports, Social Club TV, Cinedigm, Magnolia Pictures, Little Dot Studios, Group 9, Stingray and SPI/Filmhub. Later, BBC SELECT, REVOLT, France Channels, InsightTV, Docubay, FuelTV, The Great Courses Signature Collection, Shout Factory TV, OUTtv, SVTV, CGOOD TV and Alchimie will be added.
