T-Mobile TV customers in the Czech Republic can now watch channels in 4K.
According to the operator, those opting for the S tariff are now able to watch Eurosport 4K and those on the L tariff Travelxp in 4K for no additional fee.
Commenting on the development, Zdenek Spurny, household services manager at T-Mobile Czech Republic, said: “Despite the fact that anti-civic measures are slowly beginning to disintegrate, we will have to wait a while for travel and visits to major sporting events. Thanks to 4K technology, however, we are now able to bring almost realistic experiences to sports fans and travelers at T-Mobile TV. We believe that as the prestigious French Open begins and the Summer Olympics approach, this new opportunity to watch selected TV programs will be a welcome expansion of our television offer”.
A connection speed of 25 Mbps is sufficient for watching the channels in 4K. However, if it falls below this due to a large number of devices being connected, the image will be available in HD.
Broadband TV News notes that local reports say that Slovak Telekom has also made the two channels available to its customers in 4K.
