The Czech Republic’s Prima Group will launch its 10th TV channel on June 14.
Known as Prima Star, it will feature series full of Czech and Slovak stars, popular entertainment programmes, competitions and reality shows.
Commenting on the development, Prima Group CEO Mark Singer said: “The new channel is a logical addition to our Prima family. In the 28 years of its existence, Prima TV has produced a large number of programmes across all television genres, and many of them enjoy high popularity even after years of broadcasting, so we want to remind viewers of family silver, which was so far hidden in our archives. Prima Star will be a place where they will find our series, entertainment programmes and reality shows divided into well-arranged broadcast blocks, and they can thus rely on them to find them there at the same time every day”.
Prima Star will be distributed terrestrially on the digital multiplex 22 operated by the Czech Digital Group (CDG). It will also be made available to T-Mobile TV customers, with most other operators also expected to offer the channel in the future.
Prima Group’s nine current channels had an average audience share of 25.37% in all-day broadcasting and 26.30% in primetime in the CS15+ age group in April.
