4iG has become the owner of a 75% stake in the Hungarian satellite telecommunication company Hungaro Digitel (HDT).
In a statement, it says that this follows the completion of a multi-step procedure. It has seen Bartolomeu Investments, a company indirectly managed by Alpac Capital – Sociedade de Capital de Risco, become a shareholder in 4iG and Portuguese Telecommunication Investments buy 25% in HDT from the national transmission company Antenna Hungária.
4iG notes that the transaction may be completed after receiving the approval of the Hungarian Competition Authority.
Broadband TV News notes that HDT is Hungary’s leading and one of the main satellite telecommunications companies in the region, providing VSAT and satellite broadcasting services to customers through its own terrestrial transmitting station.
The transaction was first announced in February this year.
