Smart TV Stick success for Telekom Romania

May 13, 2021 09.03 Europe/London By Chris Dziadul

The number of Telekom Romania customers opting for its Smart TV Stick product increased by 47% in the first quarter.

This, according to the company in its latest set of results, partly mitigated the disappointing performance of its TV business, with the number of customers falling year-on-year to 1.1 million.

On the other hand, the number of subscribers in the fixed-mobile converged segment continued to grow, reaching 924,000 as of the end of March, or 8% more than a year earlier.

Telekom Romania noters that although its total revenues of €210 million in Q1 were lower than in the corresponding quarter in 2020, EBITDA increased by 2% year-on-year to €34.5 million.
