United Group’s BTC (Vivacom) has agreed to buy Networks-Bulgaria, the largest internet and TV provider the north of the country, for an undisclosed fee.
According to Capital, the purchase also includes Online Direct, one of the few remaining operators in the capital, Sofia, which is wholly owned by Networks-Bulgaria.
It adds that the transaction still has to receive regulatory approval but is expected to be completed in the second quarter of this year.
Networks-Bulgaria is currently owned by the Ruse-based entrepreneur Svilen Maximov. Although its subscriber figure is unknown, it had over 68,000 internet customers as of 2019. Meanwhile, Online Direct has 8,000 internet and 600 TV customers.
BTC recently completed the acquisition of the operators Net 1 and ComNet in Sofia and N3 in Plovdiv.
