Turk Telekom loses TV customers as profit soars

Turk Telekom ended the first quarter with a total of 3.1 million TV subscribers.

This was 1.8% lower than three months earlier and 10% down on the 3.4 million posted a year earlier.

Its Tivibu Home (IPTV and DTH) subscriber total stood at 1.5 million, which was 0.3% lower than three months earlier and 3.8% down on the total in Q1 2020.

However, TV ARPU increased by 14.2% in the year to March 31 to TL20.8 (€2.07).

The telco also had a total of 7.3 million fibre customers at the end of Q1, or 64.7% more than a year earlier.

Of these, 2.4 million were FTTH/B (+37.3%) and 4.9 million FTTC (+82.3%).

Turk Telekom’s revenues in Q1 were TL7,587 million (+20.4%) and EBITDA TL3,803 million (+27.7%).

Its net income was TL1,356 million (+105.2%).
