German platform operator M7 Deutschland will add lifestyle channel MyZen TV 4K to its Ultra HD (UHD) line-up on May 1, 2021.
The new channel expands M7’s UHD portfolio, which also includes Insight UHD and LoveNature 4K. The around 140 M7 partners in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg can distribute the channels on their cable networks and on their IPTV platforms.
Three out of four TV sets sold in Germany in Q1 2021 were UHD models, according to the latest Deutsche TV-Plattform/GfK figures. In total, more than 20 million UHD TV sets have been sold in Germany since 2014.
“There are UHD TV sets in a large number of households, but UHD TV channels are missing. With the three UHD channels, we are providing M7 partners with the perfect arguments to convince viewers of their TV offering as part of our quality offensive,” said Marco Hellberg, Managing Director of Eviso Germany, the M7 business partner in Germany.
