The head of anti-piracy organisation FACT has warned consumers of the dangers of illegally streaming the Chisora vs Parker fight.
Former Police officer Kieron Sharp said three out of five people in the UK (62%) are unaware that illegal streaming can lead to fraud, identity theft, and malware.
The high price of pay-per-view events make them particularly attractive to pirates and boxing fans alike. Chisora/Parker will cost Sky Box Office users £19.95.
“Consumers should be aware that piracy originates from sophisticated, unlawful enterprises, putting money directly in the pockets of criminal gangs. This is not a grey area – viewing boxing through the official providers is the only way to watch the fight legally and avoid putting yourself at risk,” said Sharp.
This week research released by Webroot revealed 92% per cent of sites analysed were found to contain some form of malicious content.
