Magyar Telekom remains the undisputed leader in Hungary’s fixed broadband sector.
Data published by the regulator NMHH says that in February it had a market share of 39%, followed by Digi csport (22.7%), Vodafone (21.3%), Tarr (3%), ViDaNet (2.3%), PR-Telecom (1.3%), Parisat (0.5%) and other providers(9.9%).
According to NMHH, there were a total of 1,030,072 FTTx connections in Hungary in February, up from 877,831 a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the number of xDSL connections fell from 653,170 to 576,104 and cable modem connections rose from 1,297,066 to 1,316,302 over the same period.
The percentage of broadband subscriptions using fibre and DOCSIS 3.0 stood at 78.8% as of the end of 2020, up from 75% a year earlier.
