Details have been announced of the leadership team that will take forward the proposed joint venture between Virgin Media and O2.
The names, drawn from both the Liberty Global and Telefonica companies, follow confirmation that Virgin Media boss Lutz Schüler, will be the incoming CEO.
The remainder of the team comprises: Jo Bertram, Managing Director – Business & Wholesale; Patricia Cobian, Chief Financial Officer; Adrian Di Meo, Chief Information Officer; Jeff Dodds, Chief Operating Officer – TV, Broadband & FMC; Rob Evans, Managing Director, Fixed Network Expansion; Nicola Green, Chief Communications & Corporate Affairs Officer; Enrique Medina Malo, General Counsel & Chief Regulatory Officer; Kay Schwabedal, Chief Digital Officer; Gareth Turpin, Chief Commercial Officer – Mobile; Philipp Wohland, Chief People & Transformation Officer and Jeanie York, Chief Technology Officer.
The names are split evenly between Virgin Media and O2.
“Today’s proposed appointments mark a big step forward on our journey to create the UK’s National Connectivity Champion, as well as to unite two exceptional cultures and a wide mix of talented people,” said Schüler. “With two high-performing teams already in place, these decisions were never going to be easy, but we’ve been through a rigorous process and have worked hard to create a balanced team with a blend of leaders from both companies.”
Last week, the CMA provisionally cleared the Virgin Media-O2 merger, however the companies will continue to operate as two separate entities until the process has concluded.
