The Bulgarian incumbent BTC (Vivacom) has received approval to buy the local TV and internet operators Net 1 and ComNet.
According to Capital, the transaction, which is for an undisclosed fee and expected to close by the end of this month, was given the green light by the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC).
Although there were no objections from BTC’s direct competitors A1 and Bulsatcom, Telenor expressed some concerns.
BTC, like Nova TV, one of Bulgaria’s two leading commercial broadcasters, is owned by United Group.
