Shareholders in the Croatian incumbent Hrvatski Telekom (HT) have accused the company of failing to report all transactions.
According a representative named Hrvoje Simic, speaking at a press conference, N1 TV reports that significant funds, amounting to more than HRK2 million (€264,000), have in the last few years been placed interest-free to affiliated companies of Deutsche Telekom in the Netherlands. This damaged HT and resulted in its shareholders being paid lower dividends.
Simic proposed that the money should be returned by Deutsche Telekom and a higher dividend paid to the shareholders. This would automatically increase the share price, which would be in the interest of all HT’s shareholders.
Meanwhile, Mladen Dragicevic, the president of the Association of HT Shareholders, has appointed out that the association was formed with the aim of protecting the value of shares of all shareholders, as well as to fight for larger dividends.
He also said that, like most shareholders, bought a package of HT shares for HEK38,000 in 2007 and received only HRK10,665 for it eight years later.
HT is due to hold a general assembly on April 23.
