Alexander Shoitov has been appointed deputy head of Russia’s Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media.
Shoitov has extensive experience in the field of information security. As deputy minister, he will be responsible for the formation of state policy and the implementation of the functions of the ministry in the field of information security, the creation and implementation of computer and telecommunications equipment for state needs, as well as software that have a sufficient level of information security and take into account the innovative development of the industry. He will also oversee the federal project “Information Security” of the national programme “Digital Economy of the Russian Federation”.
The Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media is the governmental agency of Russia responsible for telecommunications, mass media, IT and postal services.
