Vodafone TV has introduced a new premium set-top box in the Czech Republic.
Complementing existing standard reception equipment, it includes a voice control function and its launch coincides with the first anniversary of the Czech version of Vodafone TV.
While customers pay CZK70 (€2.68) a month to rent a basic set-top box, the new premium one will cost CZK120 a month.
However, both can access the same programme packages, namely Classic, Comfort and Komplet, consisting of over 55, 110 and 130 TV channels respectively.
In a combined offer, when also purchasing fixed internet from Vodafone, customers pay CZK150, 302 or 601 respectively, including the basic set-top box. However, the premium box costs an additional CZK50 a month.
Vodafone TV has included Netflix in its offer since last summer and 4K movies since last autumn.
According to Milan Raska, development director at Vodafone TV and internet services, it already has tens of thousands of customers and is currently offering them Netflix free of charge for the first three months.
