Spain ended 2020 with 8.2 million pay-TV subscribers.
This, according to the regulator CNMC, was 13.6%, or one million, more than a year earlier.
IPTV accounted for 4.8 million of the total, or 128,000 more than at the end of 2019.
Meanwhile, revenues from telecom retail services were 6% lower in 2020 than in the previous year. In Q4, they amounted to €6,072 million, or 4.9% less than in the same period in 2019.
While fixed broadband revenues grew by 2.4%, those for other services fell.
The three main operators accounted for 73.3% of retail revenues, down 1.4 percentage points on a year earlier.
CNMC also notes that the total number of FTTH connections grew by 1.4 million in 2020 to a total of 11.7 million.
Furthermore, of the 15.9 million fixed broadband connections, almost 87% had a contracted speed of 30 Mbps or more.
Of these, 96.6% offered speeds of 100 Mbps or more.
