The Portuguese public broadcaster RTP saw its profit triple last year.
This, reports Diario de Noticias, has prompted its outgoing president Gonçalo Reis to describe RTP’s performance in 2020 as “robust”.
RTP posted a net profit of €3.08 million in 2020, up from €903,000 a year earlier.
Its revenues amounted to €219.9 million, the same as in 2019, with audiovisual contributing €180.6 million (+0.8%) to the total.
Meanwhile, ad revenues, despite the effects of the pandemic, grew by 1.7% to €19 million.
EBITDA grew by 18.3% to €18.3 million and investment rose by 16.3% to €7.1 million, while debt fell by 1.4% to €93.5 million.
Reis held the post of president at RTP from 2015 until the end of last year.
