Rosa María Mateo, the sole administrator of the Spanish public broadcaster RTVE, is expected to be dismissed from the position this week.
El Economista> reports that the move will come against the backdrop of RTVE’s worst ever audience figures and continued confrontation with staff during her almost three years in office.
It adds that the Senate will vote today (Tuesday, March 23) for the four councillors that remain pending (Ramón Colom, Concepción Cascajosa, Roberto Lakidaín and Consuelo Aparicio).
Meanwhile, the Congress has announced that this week’s plenary will conclude with voting and elections, if applicable, for the president of the board of directors of RTVE.
The latter position is expected to be offered to José Manuel Pérez Tornero.
