Kabel-TV Lampert rolls out IPTV to further devices with Zattoo

March 17, 2021 08.00 Europe/London By Jörn Krieger

Zattoo is enabling Austrian network operator Kabel-TV Lampert to deploy its TV service on further consumer devices with new apps for Samsung TV, LG, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV devices.

By introducing the new applications, Kabel TV Lampert reaches two thirds of the TV sets in Austrian living rooms. Besides the wider range of devices, IPTV customers or the hybrid DVB-C/IP service can now also access all channels that were previously only available on the cable network.

Kabel-TV Lampert will be the first Zattoo TV-as-Service customer to introduce the LG TV app to the market.

For all new applications, the Austrian company will continue offering its customers the full range of interactive features such as catch-up, live pause, restart, network-PVR, content discovery and EPG.

Karoline Lampert, Managing Director of Kabel-TV Lampert, remains convinced of the strategic partnership with Zattoo: “One of the most important reasons for choosing Zattoo as a long-term partner is its unique innovative strength. It is the prerequisite for continuously expanding our TV product and delivering it in the highest quality directly to our customers.”

Since 2015 Kabel-TV Lampert has partnered with Zattoo to deliver a multiscreen TV experience to its customers, beginning with mobile applications for iOS and Android as well as a browser-based service for PC or Mac, and expanding this to a full DVB-C/IP hybrid TV solution.

Julian Hens, Head of Sales at Zattoo, said: “Kabel-TV Lampert was our first customer in the Austrian market and marked a significant step towards the expansion of our partnerships in Europe. We are looking forward to continuing supporting Kabel-TV Lampert in the future expansion of its TV strategy.”
