Pay-TV operator Sky is now offering its subscribers in Austria the catch-up service of the Austrian public broadcaster ORF as an app on its TV platform.
The ORF-TVthek is accessible via cable and satellite on the Sky Q box as well as on streaming service Sky X. With the move, Sky is further expanding its range of third-party apps, which include Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Spotify and DAZN.
“Watch TV when and where you want – this claim of the ORF TVthek will now also become reality on the Sky platforms,” Thomas Prantner, Deputy ORF Director of Technology, Online and New Media, said in Vienna. “The cooperation of Austria’s largest video platform with Sky Austria is another positive signal towards collaboration between public ORF and commercial media enterprises.”
