Croatia ended 2020 with a total of 444,129 subscribers to IPTV services.
This, according to the regulator HAKOM, was 1.72% more than a year earlier.
At the same time, the number of cable subscribers increased by 2.07% to 180,517 while the number receiving DTH services fell by 1.08% to 145,165.
The pay-DTT sector grew strongly in 2020, with the number of subscribers increasing by 16.21% to 81,170, while the number of homes receiving only terrestrial TV fell by 3.22% to 629,524.
As of Q4 2020, IPTV services were received in 30% of Croatian TV households.
Almost one in eight (12.2%) opted for cable, 9.8% for DTH and 5.5% for pay-DTT. HAKOM notes that increased revenues in the pay-TV and broadband sectors of 3% and 3.2% respectively failed to offset declines in fixed telephony and mobile of 10.7%.
Significantly, 58% of bundled packages (double, triple and quadruple) included pay-TV.
