Slovakia’s Broadcasting and Retransmission Council (RVR) has awarded national terrestrial licences to two new terrestrial TV channels.
Known as TV Anabela and Chuck TV, they will be operated by Kaluma Media and Spravca SK respectively.
Parabola reports that Kaluma Media is based in Dubnice nad Vahom and TV Anabela will be on air from 09.00 to 22.00 daily, with the main broadcast language being Slovak.
Meanwhile, Spravca SK has its headquarters in Bratislava and Chick TV will be broadcast round-the-clock, seven days a week, in Slovak, Czech and English.
At least 80% of its airtime will be produced in-house, and a third of output will be allocated to entertainment, with the next most represented genres being education and children’s programmes (16.67% each).
Significantly, the licence for Chuck TV also covers other transmission modes besides terrestrial, including DTH, IPTV and MMDS.
